Just thought I'd put together all the work I've done over the last year. I had forgotten about a lot of these.
I've tried putting some kind of commentary for all the work here, as otherwise they wouldn't make an awful lot of sense
This was first made in 2005. Most of my most recent 'work' is further down tha page in the Misc. Flash section.

I've made a number of presentations, though these two are the largest I've done this year and just so happen to have been for competitions. I make these presentations such that the rest of the team do most of the talking, pretty much reciting from a script, while the presentation provides visual aids, reinforces points etc. This all comes together pretty well when the presentations are given, though when viewing the presentations on their own they seem rather...meaningless. So basically don't worry if you can't get what's going.

Last Thursday (24th November) our school took part in a "Target 2.0" competition for the Bank of England. Basically we had to decide whether or not to increase/decrease interest rates. This is the presentation we gave which I hade made Monday night, hence a bit rushed, but was good enough to get us through this round
Edit: Just took part in London finals (28th Feb). Clicking left image will take you to that presentation, though here's the old one |
This is "The Ellipsis Presentation". Over the last year I took part in this competition called Young Enterprise where the goal was to set up a company and at the end of the year give a presentation, create a company report and build a stall to show off what we had done over the year. I got really into it (and perhaps a bit too much) and we ended up winning a bunch of prizes and got through couple of rounds to the London finals. This is the presentation that was given at the London finals.
Edit: Actually, the whole presentation's about 40MB, don't think anyone would want to wait that long for it to load. Will put up a more web-friendly version later |

Psci: The school's science magazine. This was the last issue the editor (a good friend of mine) was going to be able to edit and figured that for the last one he'd try something a bit different (untill now he had just used microsoft word). So he asked me a few days before it was to be published to make it for him and to do it in the style of Frank Miller (god knows why, think he just really liked Sin City). So this was the result. |
The Ellipsis Company Report:. As mentioned above one of the tasks required for the Young Enterprise competition was to create a company report. We were limited to 10 pages or something and so to fit everything in it and to keep it looking professional I had to tone down the graphics. |

Spectrum: The school's economics and politics magazine. Pretty similar story to that of "Psci" actually. The first issue was rather poor and for this second issue they wanted it a bit jazzed up. |
The Aerospace Challenge: I took part in yet another competition where we had to design an airspace survellience airship for the RAF. This was the result. Despite how rushed it was it still managed to get us into the finals |

The Stall
We had the design of most of the stall for the competition sorted: we were provided with a large board onto which we would project an animation giving information on the products we had made. In front would be a table with our products, company reports and other props laid out. Although this left a space of 7ft by 2ft on either side of the projection screen.
We filled these large blanks with what you see either side. Only these images had been printed onto two 7ft x 2ft pieces of what I think was some kind of mounting board. The actual images used were about 500MB each!

As you may have gathered, our main prouct was
a computer game. I really didnt want to package it in a jewel
case, especially as we had the freedom to package it in whatever
we wanted. Thus I designed the packaging below. All it needed
were 2 pieces of card and a "digitray" (where the cd is placed)
and a saturday's worth of photoshoping. To have a better look
at it, click on the side of the case you want a closer look
at.

When I first made this website in 2005, this section was pretty sparse and only had 2 flash things in it. But as 2006 passed by, I started doing odd flash jobs here and there, adding them to this section. So now most of my most recent stuff is in this section.
Every two years one of the colleges at Cambride University, Girton, holds a Ball. These balls are pretty classy, black-tie events with unlimited food and drink and plenty of live music, shows and rides.
I was asked to make a website for the 2008 ball not only to attract sales (they needed well over 1000 sales) but also to handle the ticket and worker applications. In the end the Ball was sold out and got really good reviews afterwards. |

This was my first fully flash based website. It was designed to be an online portfolio for a recently graduated art student. |
I used to watch a webtoon series called Bonus Stage. After it finished, I wanted to introduce the series to a friend, but did not want to simply send a link to a lsit of all the episodes.
Hence, I produced a "Bonus Stage CD" containing all the episodes and created a nifty interface to allow for the viewer to browse through and to watch the episodes. Here is a web version of that CD. (NB: the flash was designed to be used in a CD where the loading takes a split second. As this is a web version, there are a lot of long waits as episodes download) |

This is a flash video player I made for a fairly young techy site. It was my first real project in actionscript, building the player from the ground up. It uses an xml playlist to allow the client to easily update the playlist without needing to edit the flash file itself. |
Near the end of the summer before last, a friend of mine had just finished making his 3rd album (well "album", he never publishes them, just makes them). But anyway, this is the 'advert' I made for it
He's rather into experimental music (in other words his music is a tad weird) and thus the contents of the flash are a bit strange as well. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to upload it, but to be honest, I'm rather proud of it, mainly cause it was fun to make, even if it is a bit strange.

There was an online competiton to make some banner ads for a hosting website. These two flash banners I made were amomg the winners |
Here's an interface for a website I was asked to design. The client knew exactly how he wanted it to look like and be like, so turned out to be a very quick job |
|
|
Here's two little intros I made for the website Shred Academy.com. They were meant to be a quick and simple intros which would be randomly selected to play when a someone visits the site. |
A short 7 second animation I made for some friends. That's really all I can say about this |

Not even I know what happened
here. I think it was near the end of another all-nighter (we had a LOT of work last year) and
at that point it's too late to go to sleep (I'd just have to wake
up an hour later) and too early to go to school. So this was the
rather unfortunate result.
And on that note, I've got to get to sleep now. |
